The Trading Post builds furniture using old barn wood and other reclaimed materials. We recycle old Tennessee barns and re-use the old oak lumber, rusted tin, poles, beams, stall doors, hinges, old horse haress leather, old wagon and plow parts, and all the odd artifacts that might be found in an old barn when it's dismantled after years of with-standing the elements of time. Whatever we find, we re-use in the designing and building of our furniture and decor.

Woodspirit Sculpture By Dave Maggard Almost every culture at one time or another has had the belief that trees and bark and wood had a living spirit. The Indians believed that all things had a living spirit and treated those spirits with due respect. I try to envision the character in a piece of driftwood and bring out the personality in each piece I work with.
